I went to Verna's the other day for a fundraiser. I ordered a burger and fries as well as a white claw. Service was fast and friendly. My food was yummy! I sat outside and the atmosphere was nice. I played the jukebox a little but I wish they had some music playing always. I ended up getting a waffle ice cream before I left! Definitely stop in and try it out!
Great burgers great service! We were hungry and the kitchen was almost closed, but they hooked it up!

Great local watering hole with a surprisingly amazing 1/2lb burger. $5 on Saturdays! What a great deal. There are many craft beers on tap, and low price daily specials. It's a great spot to hit on lunch, with a group of people, after boating, late night, anytime! Many TV's, a pool table area, an outside patio area with an additional fire pit!
1938 a hidden gem South of Detroit. Remember them old school Bars deep in the South or small towns in the UP. A fresh updated dive like no other in our state. Since 1938 place packin them in , friendly locals and folks craving the Famous Burgers n more. Half Pound Burger sign up on the roof is a must try, a selection of 10 outstanding Burgers. She had a Double Patty Bacon Cheeseburger Full Pound of Love. Ms Brooke our host throwing down on the Flattop and Pouring Ice Cold Beer, 12 year's she runs the place by herself till late afternoon. She made us the Tuesday special on Friday how cool Delightful mega Nacho's with great deep Fried Flour Tortillas. Had fantastic 4 pc Cod Fish dinner, Garlic Toast, Fries n Slaw only 10 bucks of Love. The winner WOWED YumYum Burger Half Pound topped with Cheese Bacon n Peanut Butter such a instant Addiction. Five years ago I found a place that made this, they long gone. Looking forward to another visit soon, friendly folks make you feel welcome the small town feel. A huge addition completed during Covid and large patio. Superior Beer selection something for everyone. Easy to find I 75 south exit Newport road towards the river a few minutes.
